Kids Running for Refugee Kids (KRFRK)
Story
"It's A Small World After All"
Childhood should be about watching funny cartoons, eating ice-cream until our tummies hurt, and definitely lots and lots of laughter!
So why are there kids being locked up in detention centres and why are there kids dying in wars and at sea? We might only be kids but even we know this isn't right!
Adults can make things seem so complicated sometimes, but it really isn't complicated... These kids need our help! We know that parents of refugee kids are trying their very best for them but sometimes even parents need help especially when they arrive in a new country like Australia.
SOOOO...WE ARE HERE TO HELP!!!
We are a bunch of Aussies kids who care about refugee kids and their families.
We are taking part in Run 4 Refugees as part of the Melbourne Marathon and hoping to raise much needed funds for the Asylum Seeker Resource Centre (ASRC).
Make a difference by supporting our run with a donation. All donations big or small will make a difference in the lives of some of Australia's most vulnerable people! Click on Donate Now (right) and do something amazing!
Thanks for your support.
Lots of hugs and giggles from the most awesome,
"Kids Running for Refugee Kids" Team
PS. IF YOU ARE A KID, PLEASE COME JOIN OUR TEAM. EVERYONE IS WELCOME!
Activity
ASRC Footscray (Asylum Seeker Resource Centre)
The Asylum Seeker Resource Centre (ASRC) is both a place and a movement.
As an independent not for profit organisation, we are owned and run by our community. Our programs empower people seeking asylum to maximise their own physical, mental and social well-being. As a movement, we mobilise and unite communities to create lasting social and policy change for people seeking asylum in Australia.
We assist over 7,000 people seeking asylum each year from our centres in Footscray and Dandenong, Victoria.
